Ashanti Nwaka, Founder & President Nyandibo Group Inc.
Wanting to honor and celebrate her Liberian roots, New York native and beauty expert Ashanti Nwaka named her new beauty and style brand, Nyandibo.
Nyandibo, a name enriched by strength, love, faith, discipline, humor and humility, is about empowering women and men to accomplish greatness in their lives. These were rules to live by taught by Mr. & Mrs. Joseph & Kphana Nyandibo. The Nyandibo's instilled these rules in their daughter Clairessa Nyandibo, which were then passed down to her daughter Ashanti.
Ashanti honored her grandparents and mother by naming her brand after them. Now Ashanti is bringing those deeply rooted core values from the great Motherland of Liberia to the global beauty and style audience through her luxury company.
Since 2000, Ashanti has shaped hearts and heads during her career as a hairstylist, natural nail & eyelash extension tech, and makeup artist. A licensed cosmetologist, she studied beauty and hair techniques at New York International Beauty School. Ashanti started her first beauty company, New York Vixen Inc., in 2003 and over the years, she has regularly blogged about her adventures in the industry as well as new beauty and style techniques. She also has worked with various fashion designers and hair salons and for a list of fashion events including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week internationally and New York Fashion Week Africa.
Ashanti became
educator for Neuma, and in 2013, she became a Neuma National Design Team Artist. In early 2014, she became a educator and Design Team Artist for Bio Ionic, later on that year Ashanti became the beauty director for New York Fashion Week Africa. Since parting ways with those brands Ashanti now is hitting every target she desires. As if she couldn't do any more; in 2015 Ashanti achieved global notoriety by becoming a beauty partner for Africa Fashion Reception. Ashanti's work has appeared in publications such as The Alcalde, Austin Monthly, Cosmopolitan and Austin Wedding Day etc. She has worked with a variety of actors and in the television industry on projects for NBC and cable channels such as BET, G4, MTV, AMC, FX and USA.
Ashanti re-branded her company Nyandibo in 2014. Since then Nyandibo brand has really taken off, and is leaving a beauty stamp in many countries. She offers a variety of beauty and style services to U.S. and international clients.
